Geocache Description:

Wander and wonder in a suburban park.

Due to my advancing age, I (and my doctor) am concerned about the possibility of my experiencing a medical situation while on the road to Maintain one or more of my 120 GC Geocaches and 50 GCA Geocaches.

If you live near this Geocache, or regularly travel near it, you might be interested in Adopting this Geocache (or more of mine). Please let me (WanderingAus) know by Message at
Geocaching Message Center
if you are interested, including the cache code or codes
(e.g GC1M762 for this cache).

Due to the temporary nature of pens and pencils in my geocaches
BRING YOUR OWN WRITING IMPLEMENT!!!

While caching in the Northern Territory in mid-2008 I came across quite a few very tricky hides, particularly those by CHEDENT and gibbo003. They inspired me to come up with my own ideas, and I've got a few in the mill.

This cache was originally a fat pen about 120mm long by up to 20mm diameter, hence the name "Mightier" (The Pen is Mightier than the Sword), but sadly it didn't last long, so it was replaced with a waterproof match container on 12 May 2011. After only 10 years the container disintegrated, so on 1 June 2021, in accordance with my "Upsize Micro Caches" policy, I replaced the cache with a larger container with room for small swaps.

The cache is a waterproof match container hidden under leaf litter at the base of the obvious.

The cache is a drab camo'd 95mm high x 100 mm diameter round screw-top container hidden in the fork of a fallen tree, covered with a small amount of leaf litter.

I had already decided where to place this cache, but then I got an email from gardengorilla which explained to me why her offspring hadn't found one of my "Beginners Caches", and I had an immediate change of mind. If anything this might be easier to find than the original placement.

When I placed this cache there was a good track leading to within about 1.5 metres of the cache and easy access to it. On my last maintenance check I noticed a couple of trees had been blown over in storms making the path impassable, and as a result the rest of the path had become overgrown. I forgot I had made it Terrain 1, I've now upgraded to Terrain 1.5 - it's still an easy grab. My thanks to oneplusfive for the heads up.
