The above co-ordinates are for Station Road and not for the cache.

This walk takes you around the pavements and roads in the village of Tamerton Foliot where you will need to find numbers to replace the letters in the cache coordinates. Care needs to be taken crossing the main road and sections where there are no pavements especially near the church.

Parking is available in the side streets near to the three pubs, The Kings Arms, The Queens Arms and The Seven Stars.

You will find the cache at

N50° 25. AB(C-4) W004° 08.(D+7)(E-8)F

The cache is a plastic clip lock type box containing swaps, logbook and a pen.

The Walk.

Go to Station Road N50° 25.697 W004° 09.443 by a property named “Trevu” DP1?9. ( ? = B )

From here go back to Fore Street which is the main road through Tamerton Foliot, walk up the hill past the Post office, Camille Stores and the Chinese Take Away. On your left you will see the old Methodist Church which has been converted into a dwelling, next on your right is “Hillside” which was a school at one time, above the door is a plaque containing dates, 1734 & 18?7 ( ? = A )

Continue up the hill and turn right into Rock Hill, along this road you will come to another school which closed in 1975, on its boundary wall is a water hydrant marker containing two numbers ? & 10 ( ? = C )

Carry on down the road to the bottom and turn left, continue along just past the river to metal railings which was the entrance to a play park but now just a green area , the metal railings are held together with ? bolts. ( ? = D )

Next it is on to the church yard.( Easy access can be gained by going up the hill and entering by the East gate by the famous old Coplestone Oak tree). Near the South side of the tower you will find inscribed on a head stone the words, Captain Thomas Simpson died 28th March 184 ? ( ? = E)

The last number required is near the East gate on a tomb stone, Charles Newman Evelegh, Major, Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry born Jan 15th 186 ? ( ? = F )

You now have all the numbers required for the cache position. Good luck.
