Geocache Description:

One more reason to go for a nice hike up Irish Hill.
Remember, it's good for you and we want to do our part in keeping you healthy! ;)

Last weekend, DJ and I were attempting to find a way to hike from the Berlin Pond area over Irish Hill then on to Paine Mountain and down into Northfield.
Things didn't start all that well because we thought we could start at the southern end of Berlin Pond and go up a different way. Although we might have spotted a trail head, we need to do more research. So we reverted to the 'usual' starting point at N: 44deg 11.892, W: 72deg 35.570. This morning's temperature is hovering around zero degrees so we bundled in layers (made sure we had our winter survival gear with us, just in case) put on our snow shoes and headed up the hill.

Once we got going I was getting warm so the outer layers came off and I tied my jacket to my backpack and continued our climb. Well we got to the top of Irish Hill and were taking a break and looking into the valley. Somehow the conversation turned to what type of jackets were the best to hike with and it was then that I looked at my backpack and realized, MY JACKET WAS GONE!
Dang, I apparently didn't tie it very well and it fell off somewhere along the trail. So we needed to abandon our scouting mission for the day (but we did have a good workout just the same) and return to search for my coat.

Just to make sure the day wasn't a total wash out, we placed this cache so you too can enjoy a good workout and a nice hike up Irish Hill. You are looking for a 2 cup lock-n-lock. It should be findable (is that a word??) year round.

Oh, we did indeed find my coat and we will be back to find out if indeed you can get to Northfield from here!😛
