Geocache Description:

The cache is located at the top of Goldenberry Hill. This sits snugly above Hunterston Nuclear power station and the small village of Portencross. Simpsons fans may have now guessed why “Springfield”
Don’t let the fact there is power station nearby put you off. The views from here are fabulous.
450 ft. Time Approx 2hrs return from car park

The easiest way up the hill is to park at the nice big car park at Portencross and walk back to Ardneil Farm. While here you could always have a look for GCHBZN.

Please note.
Do not park at the farm or outside it as this road is only slightly wider than single track and any obstruction causes serious aggravation.

You will need to go through a working farm and cross some of their fields, albeit on a track.

Please be sensible and be prepared to listen to instructions from the farmer. No dogs.

Once you have parked your car and walked back to the farm. (It will only take you 5 minutes.)
Go through the farm buildings following the road towards the hill. From here the telecoms operator Orange have kindly built a track all the way to the top of the hill.

When you get to the top of the hill you will first see the Orange Phone mast and the associated equipment. Nearby you will see a little gap in the dry stone wall / electric fence that takes you over to the Ordnance survey trig point. You are getting close.
