Gravity Cavity Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Explorer67: As noted by the last person to find this cache, the owners of the land have closed the trails to the public. In light of this, I have archived this cache. Thanks to the landowners for providing one of the first and best mountain bike trails in the area and a great location to place a geocache.

Geocache Description:

The location of this cache will lead you to a geographic anomaly known as a “Gravity Cavity.” The properties of this formation allow one to experience both extra G force and brief weightlessness within seconds, provided one enters the Gravity Cavity on a bicycle at speed.

The cache is hidden near this phenomenon. Please exercise caution while searching the area as cyclists will be whizzing by here as well as other parts of the trails and may not see you. You may not want to bring very young children to find this one but older ones will love it.

The parking coords are as follows: N35 24.798 W 080 41.550. The cache is located on private property on which the Andrews family across the street was kind enough to build mountain bike trails. Public access is allowed, but please read the cautions at the kiosk. There is a $3.00 fee for bikers only. The fees help to pay for the expenses of maintaining the great bike trails.

The container is a simple plastic box with a few goodies. This cache was a door prize from the recent Rock Hill geocaching event.

Enjoy exploring and don’t fall in the Cavity!
