Geocache Description:

This cache is named after Captain John Holliday for whom the town of Holliday, Texas and Holliday Creek was named. He was in the Republic of Texas Military Expedition. Legend has it that he carved his name in a Tree not far from the cache site. A historical marker is also nearby.

The cache is made from a discarded item that was damaged during one of the 2008 Wichita Co. grass fires. So it went from trash to cache.
