Geocache Description:

This is one of a series of five caches placed on Superbowl Sunday 2009 in the Yuba Gold Fields area. The trails are dirt, gravel, and river rock, and are mostly level or gently rolling, with a few steep sections.

Superbowl Sunday was another warm, sunny, spring-like day, and when I stepped outside the house, I heard the Yuba River calling. As for Molly, she doesn't understand the concept of spectator sports, and has never yet said "no" to the question, "Want to go for a walk?"

We parked near Ghost Plant (GCHB63) and walked a loop of a little over five miles when we placed the caches, but this isn't the only way in -- there are lots of trails and several other good access points. You can get very close to four of the five by 4WD, ATV, or dirt bike; #2 requires a short walk of about .2 mi. if you're riding an ATV or dirt bike, or a little longer if you're in a full-size 4WD vehicle. There's a good trail (not too steep) down to the river near this cache, and Molly recommends this spot to other cachin' K9s as a good place to get a drink or cool off in the water.

The caches are numbered in the order we placed them, but depending on your route, that might or might not be the best order to search for them. All five are round plastic jars covered in camo tape; they are larger than a "small" cache but smaller than the average "regular" cache.
