Geocache Description:

Placed while tubing down the Kaukonahua Stream

Had such a great time with this, I thought I'd put a cache out here. Located about half-way down the stream, from our stream entry point, it took us about 2 hours to reach the exit point. Along the way, we floated through many deep pools and tried our luck with some rapids (most too shallow today). The water is pretty cold, most of us stayed in our long pants, which also saved the knees.

The Group of River Rats

All we need is banjo music!!

Too shallow!

If you lose your signal on the stream, the cache is located near the only feeder stream we saw. I think it comes from the Poamoho Tunnel, "from the UNDERWORLD". The stream will be on your right. Pass the stream and go into a large pool, the cache is located on the left bank, tied to the base of a tall skinny tree. It is about 15 feet above the water line, which is just about where the stream reached during the floods a couple of months ago. To gauge if the water is too dangerous to enter, I would say that when you cross a small stream at N21 30.572 W157 58.976, if the water is near your knees, come back another time.
