Geocache Description:

The cache is a small container well hidden. When found, please rehide as good or better than you found it. The container is large enough for small trade items and small travel bugs. It is located on the main drag of Greenville. Parking is close by and it is kid friendly. Bring your own pen or pencil. Permission was given by the President of the UNW.of Greenville United Methodist Church.

Greenville is located in Meriwether County. It was named for Gen. David Meriwether. This area was the main branch of the Upper Creek trading route. The Creek Indians passed thru here and White traders began using this trail in the early 1700s. Gen David Meriwether was a Rev. War soldier, and represented the government in various negotiations with the Indians.

This building was the old jail in the town of Greenville
