This is placed near a famous landmark in Grass Valley. Lola Montez Known as a spanish dancer to the goldminers of Calif. and was famous for her Spider dance lived here only 2 doors down from another famous dancer Lotta Crabtree. Lola was an eccentric female, who was known to keep a bear tethered in her front yard and walking it occasionally on a leash. Lola took Lotta a young girl at the time and living with her mother and father in the rock house you see across the street from this location, under her wing and taught her some of her dances. Lola was really of Irish decent not spanish as she wanted everyone to believe.
