Geocache Description:

An easy cache at a musically historic home in San Francisco.

Sylvester Stewart was raised in Vellejo California. After years of performing in a gospel group at his church and then working as a DJ on the San Francisco radio station KSOL (later K-Soul) he adopted the surname "Stone". Sly Stone released several solo songs "A Long Time Away" / "I'm Just A Fool" which earned him enough money to by his mother a house on the corner of Urbano and DeSoto in Ingleside. It was here that Sly formed the now legendary band Sly and the Family Stone, and it was in the lower half and garage of this house that Sly and the Family Stone rehearsed and arranged their first 2 albums "A Whole New Thing" and "Dance to the Music". Neighbors have been said to complain about hearing them blast songs late into the night. Songs that we know so well these days like: Dance to the Music, Every Day People, Hot Fun in the Summer Time, I Just Want to Thank You (for lettin me be myself, again).

When you find this cache, take some time to contemplate how they went from the basement of this house to a headliner on the main stage at Woodstock.

You do not need to step off the sidewalk or touch private property to find this cache.
