Join fellow geocachers at this CITO event on Clean Up Australia Day to help clean up the local area, and enjoy a sausage sizzle and a couple of new caches as reward!
Where: Gap Creek Reserve Picnic Area, Gap Creek Road
When: Sunday 1st March, 8:30 am to 11:30 am
The plan is to collect rubbish in the surrounding bush area and along the roadside for about an hour (and maybe sneak in a few stray caches you haven’t found yet!) and return to the picnic area to relax with a drink and a sausage sizzle and chat with fellow cachers about all things geocaching. Once everyone is fed and happy we will have a few lucky door prizes to give away and the coordinates to a few new unpublished caches in the area.
Please bring gardening gloves for picking up rubbish (we will provide rubbish bags and have some latex gloves too), a hat and sunscreen, a chair for relaxing afterwards, your own reusable cup for a drink at the sausage sizzle (we are trying to reduce rubbish after all!) and of course, your GPS and a pen and pad to note down new cache details. If it's raining on the day, then you had better bring a raincoat too!
We welcome any donations that could be used as lucky door prizes, almost anything can be geocaching related and I know how imaginative you cachers are!
Anyone and everyone is welcome, not only will you be helping the environment, most will also get to add a new cache symbol to your list of Found caches. Remember, it's all about the icons, not the numbers
Please RSVP here on geocaching.com by Friday 27th Feb for catering purposes, and please also sign up for the event on the Clean Up Australia Day website at this address: (visit link)
Look forward to seeing you there!
