The Keilor grassland plains where one of the first areas in
Victoria to be settled but due to thin clay soils, heavy grazing,
rabbits and low rainfall, the marginal land was quick to have many
farmers walk off the land.
This cache will take you to the remains of a 1850s stone
European house that includes the remains of two stone sheds, a
well, traces of an orchard, as well as a scenic view of organ pipes
national park that few people ever see.
Cache is a small Tupperware container with a log and some small
items and will probably be a simple find for most.
NB: the cache is in a national park so don’t leave the path
or trample vegetation, also please note **the cache is not
in the historical ruins** so don’t disturb them while
searching.
the path may be cut off by the river, although you could walk
though it most of the year with gumboots and in summer you can
generally walk though it dry
Although it is footpath/maintained dirt path, the paths can get
quite steep throughout the park
