This is the first of five caches in my movie-related puzzle
cache series:
Movie
Madness #1: Quotes (GC1MDHV)
Movie
Madness #2: Locations (GC1MDHW)
Movie
Madness #3: Awards (GC1MDHY)
Movie
Madness #4: Characters (GC1MDHZ)
Movie
Madness #5: Joint Projects (GC1MDJ0)
When you have found all five caches, you will have enough
information to track down Movie
Madness Final, which has the REAL goodies including DarkSide Cinema gift certificates
for the first three finders!
The listed coordinates are the best parking spot for seeking the
actual cache, which is within two miles of that location. Do not
block the orange gate. Even if the gate is open, do NOT drive
beyond it, because it can be locked at any time!
To determine the actual coordinates, determine the movies in
which the following quotes were uttered. For each movie, add the
digits of its production date together. If the sum is more than one
digit, keep adding until you are left with one digit. For example,
the quote "I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender"
comes from "On The Waterfront", which was released in 1954.
1 + 9 + 5 + 4 = 19... 1 +
9 = 10... 1 + 0 = 1
Replace those digits into this pattern to determine the actual
coordinates:
N 44 AB.CDE W 123 1F.GHI
A. "We're all dead. Burned to a crisp."
B. "Never trust a cop in a raincoat"
C. "Heeere's Johnny!"
D. "I'm not gonna debate you, Jerry! I'm not gonna debate!"
E. "It takes all kinds of critters to make Farmer Vincent's
fritters"
F. "If anyone was to ask for my opinion, which I note they're
not, I'd say we were taking the long way around."
G. "Get in there, you big furry oaf! I don't care what you
smell!"
H. "Look in your heart! Look in your heart!"
I. "Why so serious?"
The Internet Movie Database is the
source for all information used in these five puzzles.
The container is a small M258A1 Military Decontamination Box.
There is only room for the log sheet and VERY SMALL trackables
(e.g., geocoins). Bring your own writing instrument! Please replace
the log book inside the plastic bag, make sure that the lid is
snapped tightly shut, and hide the container as well (or better)
than you found it.
When you have logged all five caches in this series, please
e-mail me and I will be happy to give you the coordinates and
information for the final.
You can check your answers on
Geochecker.com.
Although I did my best to ensure the accuracy of these
coordinates, you may experience some drift due to tree cover.
*** IMPORTANT *** This cache has been placed with the
express permission of the McDonald Forest Recreation Manager. This
area is open from dawn to dusk. There is no need to take more than
two steps off the trail to retrieve the container. NO BUSHWHACKING
IS REQUIRED!
Congratulations to
greenwordturner for being FTF!
