Geocache Description:

This is the second of five caches in my movie-related puzzle cache series:

Movie Madness #1: Quotes (GC1MDHV)
Movie Madness #2: Locations (GC1MDHW)
Movie Madness #3: Awards (GC1MDHY)
Movie Madness #4: Characters (GC1MDHZ)
Movie Madness #5: Joint Projects (GC1MDJ0)

When you have found all five caches, you will have enough information to track down Movie Madness Final, which has the REAL goodies including DarkSide Cinema gift certificates for the first three finders!

The listed coordinates are the best parking spot for seeking the actual cache, which is within two miles of that location. Do not block the orange gate. Even if the gate is open, do NOT drive beyond it, because it can be locked at any time!

To determine the cache coordinates, determine the movies which were filmed at the following locations. (If there are multiple movies for one location, use the oldest one.) Replace the rightmost digit of each movie's release date into this pattern to determine the actual coordinates:

N 44 AB.CDE W 123 1F.GHI

A. Hutto, Texas

B. Valley Park, Mississippi

C. Hardangerjøkulen Glacier, Norway

D. Philomath, Oregon

E. Timberline Lodge, Oregon

F. John Day Fossil Beds, Oregon

G. Eagle Cap Wilderness, Oregon

H. Ephrata, Washington

I. Ralphs Supermarket, South Pasadena, California

The Internet Movie Database is the source for all information used in these five puzzles.

You are looking for a small plastic Lock-and-Lock container. There is room for VERY SMALL trackables and trading items. Please replace the log book and pencils, make sure that the lid is snapped tightly shut, and hide the container exactly where you found it.

When you have logged all five caches in this series, please e-mail me and I will be happy to give you the coordinates and information for the final.

You can check your answers on Geochecker.com.

*** VERY VERY IMPORTANT *** When I replaced the container on 04/02/2009, I had to put it in a slightly different location because its original host was falling apart. After you solve the puzzle, apply the following offsets to those coordinates which will give you the NEW cache location: N + 0.013 W +0.030.

Although I did my best to ensure the accuracy of these coordinates, you may experience some drift due to tree cover. Please refer to the hint if necessary.

*** IMPORTANT *** This cache has been placed with the express permission of the McDonald Forest Recreation Manager. This area is open from dawn to dusk. There is no need to leave the trail to retrieve the container. NO BUSHWHACKING IS REQUIRED!

Congratulations to greenwordturner for being FTF!
