Ammo box in the dunes in scrubby trees. Walk unless you're in dune buggy. Log book and pen inside. Add stuff if you like.
FEB 20, 2011 UPDATE: I visited the cache yesterday and found it to be in great shape. The ammo box was taken a long time ago and I had replaced it with a plastic screw lid nut container tied to a scrubby tree with parachute cord. Remember to keep a wheel of your car on paving when you stop or you will get STUCK !
Park on paving, not too hard a little hike. A big sandstorm will likely cover this although it is in sheltered area for now. Amazing area of sand dunes and scrub trees. Used to be a park, but shifting sands must have buried all the campgrounds, etc. Neat place. ENJOY!
And yes, kitties would love the place.
I did call the owner of the property next door and told him about geocaching. He's OK with this cache and I think would allow a dune buggy cacher to put something out on his property for other dune buggy cachers to go for. There is a fee to ride your buggy way out in the dunes on his property, certainly understandable since there is upkeep and liability of having folks out there in them thar sandy hills !
