Geocache Description:


This cache is located on the grounds of Independent Bible Church (IBC) less than 2 miles from I-81 on Route 9. It’s a quick grab with a large cache perfect for travel bugs.

IBC had its beginnings in a small country church located in Berkeley Station, north of Martinsburg. In 1955, a portion of this local assembly relocated to Moler Avenue in Martinsburg and became know as IBC. This 37 acre tract that the church now sits on was purchased in the early 1970’s.

The church moved to its current location in 1974. Several additions have been made to the original building. Most recently a 40,000 sq. ft addition was completed in 2007. This latest addition has a Discipleship Wing with modern nurseries, adult classroom and multi-purpose facility in which worship services are held as well as a gym used for community outreach.

This is a friendly church. Please stop by on Sunday--join us for church! There are two morning worship services: the 9:15 service is blended towards a traditional style and meets in the sanctuary and the 10:45 service is blended towards contemporary and meets in the Outreach Center.

The church motto is “We teach the Bible as it is for people as they are”, thus the name of the cache –"Come as you are!"
Cache is available between 8 am and dusk, but please respect the church's worship meeting times and do not seek the cache on Sunday mornings. Cache is placed with permission of the church.
The cache is hidden along the perimeter of the grounds. You do not need to cross the fence to find this cache. You can wear your “church shoes” to reach this cache.

From the main entrance on Route 9, (2306 Hedgesville Road
Martinsburg WV 25403), drive straight back and park in the lot near the back gate. There is plenty of parking. You will be walking down a gravel path/road to the cache. Have the kids bring a basketball, volleyball or just enjoy the playground. Enjoy the park-like sitting. We love visitors! The cache is about 500 ft from the picnic pavilion.

There are now 4 caches on the church property, a easy ammo box - "Come as You Are", a unusual cache container - "Ebenezer", a somewhat more difficult Micro - "Church Cache" and Ant House was added in 2011.

Plenty of room for travel bugs and geocoins and we commit to keep it stocked with plenty of trading items. We would like to make this a fun cache for the kids.
