This event geocache is meant to be a get-together of local and
global geocachers.
It will take place on Friday, 3rd April from 7 pm at the George Inn in Croscombe.
I have recently been to an event-geocache and was impressed by the amount of really interesting people turning up for it.
As I have been thinking about setting an event-geocache myself for a while, I am delighted to have agreed a date with Peter and Veryan, landlords of the George Inn in Croscombe, one of the nicest pubs in my local geocaching playing field. The George Inn was awarded UK New Pub of the Year in 2008 by the Good Pub Guide, and is known for its very friendly welcome, excellent food, and its superb beer selection and quality.
As a special and to make this a memorable event, we will provide an 'event cache container' roughly the size of a beer cask which you will have to find as the event logbook and pen will be there. Once you have 'found' the 'cache' the contents can be swapped for 2 x 9.5 gram brass-nickel trading discs or one 28mm diameter bi-metal trading disc.
We hope to see all the local and many global geocachers attending this event.
