OK, thought I'd get on my thinking cap here, and provide a primer to some physics as part of this cache description. The following excerpt I will gladly acknowledge I snagged from Wikipedia:
The W and Z bosons are the elementary particles that mediate the weak force. Their discovery has been heralded as a major success for the Standard Model of particle physics.
The W particle is named after the weak nuclear force. The Z particle was semi-humorously given its name because it was said to be the last particle to need discovery [Geopiel: particle physics humour?]. Another explanation is that the Z particle derives its name from having zero electric charge.
When I snowshoed in to setup this cache, there was a self-created trail through the woods from ambitious XC skiiers, dog walkers, and folks snow-shoeing. Might be a bit of a bushwack in the summer, so this cache is easier to approach in the winter months.
The cache itself is a 1kg peanut butter jar, covered in camo tape, hanging in a tree.
Can you find the Boson? Please provide photo if you can! Enjoy.
