Look carefully on the other side of the road, about 200 feet north (downhill) from here. (N 37° 14.677 W 122° 04.085)
I believe this is (was) a Fiat 128, which I discovered while walking back to my car from the nearby "Room With a View" cache. I used to own a Fiat Spider and believe this is a Fiat 128 based on the very short trunk, taillights, door handles, and turn signal stalk, which all look very familiar.
You may disagree that it's a Fiat because it's not rusty enough, or some other story like that. Like British cars, once you replace several major components and keep-up with extensive preventative maintenance, they're not too bad!
The half-life of a Fiat, especially in winter climates, was about 5 years. This one has not yet been recycled into a Hyundai, but is definitely beyond it's useful life!
