Geocache Description:

Three Hundred TwentyFourth in the Famous People (FP) Series -

Are you asking yourself who the heck is Bob Bell? Well actually he is Robert Lewis Bell (January 18, 1922 – December 8, 1997) better known as Bozo the Clown.

Unlike many other shows on television, "Bozo the Clown" was mostly a franchise as opposed to being syndicated, meaning that local TV stations could put on their own local productions of the show complete with their own Bozo. Another show that had previously used this model successfully was Romper Room. Since each market used a different portrayer for the character, the voice and look of each market's Bozo also differed slightly. One example is the voice and laugh of WGN-TV Chicago's Bob Bell, who also wore a red costume throughout the first decade of his portrayal.

Bob Bell is the only member of the International Clown Hall of Fame inducted not wearing his clown makeup. Larry Harmon owned the rights to the Bozo character and refused to allow Bell to wear the makeup for the ceremony. In 1970, Bell received his first Emmy for WGN-TV's Bozo's Circus. He retired from WGN-TV and "The Bozo Show" in 1984.

The Old Pickton Cemetery is the location of this small, camoed bison tube. If you can put up with the barking, yapping dogs next door, then hopefully you can spot this little thing hanging around. Just FYI, the dogs never did come into the cemetery or even leave their own yard as fas as we could tell, and we were here for quite some time. During the growing season, this is certainly going to be a much more difficult find.
