Welcome to the Flint Hills - SOUTHBOUND Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

cantuland: These two "Welcome to the Flint Hills" geocaches have been fun ones. However, since the construction of these monuments do not include a place to pull off of the highway for close up viewing, I am letting these geocache listings go to rest. Perhaps someday in the future there will be a redesign of the area that will include a pull-off from the highway; when that day comes, we'll be back.

Thanks all for chasing down the logbook and leaving your mark. It's been a fun run.

These two geocaches are now going to say goodbye to the Flint Hills.

Geocache Description:

WELCOME TO THE FLINT HILLS
(southbound)

Just south of Emporia, this neat little spot is visible to all who drive southbound on the Turnpike. At MileMarker-119, this place is an excellent photo opportunity for you to collect memories of the journey.

You are looking for a see-thru plastic loc-n-loc box. Contents include a Sacagawea gold dollar coin, a Kansas buffalo quarter, a Lewis-and-Clark edition nickel, a new-image-on-the-back Lincoln penny, and other miscellaneous trade items.

Congratulations to kcchiefs1 for being First To Find!
