Geocache Description:

In celebration of the Park District’s 50th anniversary we will be placing 50 caches throughout the Park District!

Each month we will place four new caches in various parks for a total of 48 caches by December 2009. These caches will be posted on www.geocaching.com at the beginning of each month, and will stay active for 90 days. In addition to our 4 monthly caches, we will have two cache events that will include multi-caches to round out the 50. Stay tuned for our summer and fall newsletter where we will advertise the cache events. As always, while caching in our parks please use the paths provided and follow park rules. If you are interested in hiding a cache in our parks you must call the Park District for approval before doing so. Failure to do so may result in removal of your cache from our parks.

This park, totaling 6.6-acres, was formerly a leaf dump. It is the only neighborhood park with a parking lot. The field in the back of the park has a portion that is left unmowed and a portion good for soccer practice. Be sure to stay on park property while searching for and retrieving this cache. Note the number of the cache. Keep track of all 48 numbers and the park name that goes with each number. Bring the completed list to Park District headquarters in December 2009 and get a special edition t-shirt while supplies last!
