Park 'N Pump (aka What's That Smell?) Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

lamoracke: the cache is not there anymore and to be blunt, it was a lame multi as there were no real good hiding places on that trail or decent #s for a multi, but I wanted to do the best I could with what I got and make one there that day.

Its gone.

Geocache Description:

Ever had the pleasure of using the Lynnwood Park and Ride? One would think its big enough for everyone. Wrong. Perhaps volume has gone down a tiny bit due to the recession, but before 2009, if you did not get to the Park and Ride by say 7:40 am in the morning on Monday through Thursday, you were doomed.

That being said, another fun thing about trying to find a place to park in this place is that it can really smell, especially the closer you get to the freeway? Why? Its next to the City of Lynnwood Lift and Pump Stations Number 10.

The Lynnwood wastewater collection system is comprised of approximately 100 miles of piping. The Lift Station No. 10 Basin is the City’s largest and includes the City Center area of the City. It receives flow from all of the Scriber Creek Drainage basin and a portion of the Swamp Creek Drainage Basin. On a dry day, about 2 mgd (million gallons per day) of wastewater go through here. The capacity for this place is about 8 1/2 mgd. During wet times, this value can exceed that, even further increasing the smell in the area.

That's some of the reasoning behind the stench as you can imagine, however you do not need to know any of that for this cache. The coordinates will get you to a section of a walking trail that runs south near I-5 (walking west will reach Scriber Lake).

At the coordinates, you will see a bridge, walk south on it. How many crisscrossing x shapes are there on both sides combined? (thus each x = 1 and fyi, its the same # on both sides), let that value be AB.

Continue walking past the bridge about 150 feet. There is a large metal pole to your left (freeway side), the numbers and letters are C-DEF where C is a letter in this case. Convert C to its numerical equivalent (assuming A=0, B=1, etc etc)

also G equals A+E and H equals Fx2

The final is at North 47 48.BCD West 122 17.HGE. Check sum B+C+D+H+G+E = 26

Please bring your own pen. Container is small, has enough room for a log book and coins, that's about it. I should stress that this cache multi starts at a park and ride thus be extra careful to not be noticed.

Now I have all three types of caches if you are struggling to find 3 types of caches from owners for various challenge caches. Will probably list one more traditional cache so I have one of each listed in 2009.
