Geocache Description:

Old town hall in Fort Nottingham.



Fort Nottingham must be one of the most amazing small villages left in South Africa. As a small boy we used to come to a really before its time restaurant called Cafe la Fort. It was run by Michael and Johan. I'm not sure what happened to them but we had may amazing meals there. The town hall must be the smallest I have seen in a while! The museum is well worth the visit. Please feel free to make a donation to preserve this part of our early South African Heritage. There is so much history here that I would suggest spending a whole day here(complete with a picnic!)
Be sure to also visit the graves after the museum visit. The graves are on the townlands behind the hall.
