LAS CRUCES DE TORREPEROGIL

Este geocaché nos llevará a un paseo por la localidad de Torreperogil, vecina de Úbeda y Baeza (Ciudades Patrimonio de la Humanidad) y con inmejorables perspectivas de la Sierra de Cazorla.
Durante las charlas navideñas en casa de mis padres, nos contaron la historia de Paquita La Tesorera, una mujer que durante un sueño recibió las instrucciones para encontrar un tesoro escondido en Torreperogil. Al despertar del sueño lo contó a sus familiares, y fue tal su convicción, que se hizo una expedición para desenterrarlo después de calcular la localización con las fórmulas que Paquita puso sobre un papel después de su sueño. Lamentablemente, y a pesar de los medios usados, no se consiguió encontrar. Paquita siempre sostuvo que el tesoro estaba allí y que no se había excavado bastante profundo. Pero ya nadie la creyó.
Debido a la amistad de mi madre y Paquita, ésta le regaló un pañuelo en el que había bordado las fórmulas del tesoro. Lo buscamos en sus cajones y una tarde invernal, de ésas que pasas sentado detrás del cristal de la ventana viendo la lluvia caer, volví a calcular la localización del tesoro para pasar el tiempo. Mi sorpresa fue mayúscula cuando descubrí que la localización que me salía estaba en el punto opuesto del pueblo en el que excavaron. Los cálculos que se hicieron cuando Paquita lo anunció contenían un error que había pasado desapercibido. Nos encaminamos rápidamente hacia la situación y llegamos al punto final. Nos pusimos a excavar toda la familia y, al cabo de medio metro de tierra, dimos con el cofre que Paquita había soñado. Sacamos el precioso contenido para repartir con la familia, pero dejamos algunas cosas para compartir con otros visitantes de este rincón del sur.
Podéis encontrarlo si seguís las siguientes indicaciones:
Empezamos el recorrido en el WP1 donde encontraremos las primeras cruces:
(WP1) N 38º 02.268 O 03º16.944
Cerca de este punto hay una ermita, de la cuál tendremos que anotar el año de finalización de la construcción (el dato se encuentra escrito cerca de las cruces). Los cálculos que debemos hacer son:
• Sumar las 2 primeras cifras (Y)
• Sumar todas las cifras/Y = Z
• Restar Z-2= X= T
Con estos datos, tenemos las coordenadas del WP2:
(WP2) N 38º 02.0XY O 03º17.2ZT
Nos encaminamos a este punto, dónde encontraremos otra cruz. Aquí deberemos informarnos del año de construcción de un retablo que aparece citado a unos metros de la cruz. Con este número, obtendremos las cifras que nos faltan para el WP3 y final:
• Cifra que se repite = X
• Y=Z=T=X-5
(WP3) N 38º 01.9XY O 03º18.0ZT
Así llegaremos a nuestro destino y última cruz del día.

This geocache includes a walk through the town of Torreperogil, close to Úbeda and Baeza (World Heritages) and with excellent views over Cazorla Mountains.
During a Christmas chatting at my parents’ home, they told the story of Paquita La Tesorera (The Treasurer), a woman who was revealed the instructions to find a hidden treasury in Torreperogil while she was dreaming. The next day she explained it to her relatives in such a convincing way that, after the calculation of the location using the formulas written by Paquita, a digging team was set up. Unfortunately, and despite of the means used in the task, the treasury was not found. Paquita always supported that they did not dig deep enough. But nobody believed her this time.
As a result of the friendship with Paquita, she gave my mother a handkerchief with the formulas stitched on it. We searched it in her drawers and, during a winter evening (while looking at the rain at the other side of the window), I calculated again the location of the treasury as a pastime. I had a big surprise when I realized that the result pointed to the opposite side of the town where they dug. The original calculations had a mistake that went unnoticed. We made our way quickly towards the location and we arrived to the final point. All the family started to dig, and after half meter of removed soil, we arrived to the chest that Paquita had dreamed. We took out the precious content to distribute to the family, but some jewels remain inside to share with the visitors of this corner.

We start the tour in WP1 where we will find the first crosses:
(WP1) N 38º 02.268 W 03º16.944
Near this point there is a church. We have to write down the year when the building was finished (this data is displayed near the crosses). We need to do the following calculations:
• Add the first 2 figures (Y)
• Add all the figures/Y = Z
• Subtract Z-2= X= T
With these data we have the coordinates for WP2:

We make our way to this point where we will find a new cross. We have to gather information about the year of design of the altarpiece cited within some meters of the cross. With this number, we will obtain the missing figures for WP3 and final one:
• Repeated figure = X
• Y=Z=T=X-5

Now we arrive to our destination and last cross of the day.
