Magpie Domain Traditional Cache

Geebong Park in Geebung lies on both sides of part of the Zillman Waterholes. Zillman's Waterholes are a series of deep water courses and ponds which flood after heavy rain. They are named after a pioneering Lutheran missionary who settled in the area in the mid 1800s.

There are entrances to the park from several adjacent streets including Roland Street.

The park is mainly more or less flat mown grass except for the deep watercourses which are crossed by footbridges. However cyclists should watch for inconspicuous drains. There are concrete paths but not to the cache.

Warning. Aggressive Magpie swoops have been known in the area and one wounded me in mid September 2009. Fortunately these only occur during the nesting season each year. The danger period was apparently over within six weeks.

Warning 2. The bees have returned to the area a little above the cache. When they were there before they did not cause a problem.
