"Just imagine." That's what we said to ourselves as we surveyed the view from this hilltop. Imagine how this might have looked before California was settled...when the first settlers arrived...when the stagecoaches drove by, stopping nearby in Clarksville...when the lumber train rumbled past, coming from Camino...before Highway 50 and El Dorado Hills were built...when this hilltop was pasture land not so long ago.
You can take 5 minutes to imagine all those things, in just a short walk to the cache, or you can linger at the top for much longer. The views are excellent, and this is a nice spot for a geo-picnic too.
You might notice a tire swing in the trees near the parking area. We left that area alone so the local kids can continue to enjoy their private playground.
