Geocache Description:

The well-known phrase, "The pen is mightier than the sword" was first used in 1839 in Edward Bulwer-Lytton's play "Richelieu; Or The Conspiracy". In the play Cardinal Richelieu learns that his friend and confidant, the monk Joseph, has plotted against him. Because he was a priest, Richelieu could not challenge the monk to physical combat. Instead, he issued a written statement which contains the following:

"Beneath the rule of men entirely great,
The pen is mightier than the sword."

How many times have you arrived at a cache, carrying your trusty sword, only to find there's no damsel in distress, no dragon to slay, and NO PEN?

This cache, hidden like King Authur's legendary sword which when removed by him was proof of his royal lineage, is dedicated to Mermaid & HornyToad in honor of their 1500th cache!!! By the way, they always carry a pen and don't even own a sword.
