Round
dance
Round dance je párový
tanec, ktorý vychádza zo spolocenských tancov. Majú spolocný základ
v tanecných rytmoch a figúrach. Na rozdiel od spolocenských tancov
sa round dance netancuje sútažne, ale hlavne ako záluba. Je
špecifický tým, že sa tancuje na nápovedu. Do
reprodukovanej hudby tzv. cuer napovedá názvy tanecných figúr,
ktoré tanecníci na parkete vzápätí tancujú. Cuer cíta figúry z
cuesheetu, vdaka comu si tanecníci nemusia pamätat celú
choreografiu. Cuesheet je zoznam tanecných figúr, usporiadaných do
celku - choreografie.
foxtrot, quickstep, tango...) i latinskoamerické (cha-cha, rumba,
jive, samba...) a tiež sú v round dance zaužívané
niektoré dalšie rytmy (two-step, slow two-step, bolero, mambo,
west coast swing...). Tanecné figúry pre jednotlivé rytmy sú podla
obtiažnosti zoradené do fáz I - VI, co ponúka širokú
možnost uplatnenia pre každého - od teenegera po
dôchodcu, od zaciatocníka po tanecníka klasických spolocenských
tancov.
Round dance sa vyucuje
a tancuje v kluboch po celom svete. Všetky nápovedy cuera
vrátane tanecných figúr sú v anglictine a sú celosvetovo
štandardizované organizáciou zvanou Roundalab - The
International Association of Round dance Teachers. Vdaka jednotne
definovaným tanecným figúram v anglictine si spolocne môžu
zatancovat Slováci, Cesi, Nemci, Anglicania, Švédi,
Americania, Japonci, Austrálcania, hoci sa stretli po prvý
krát.

Round
dance
Round dance is a dance
for couples, which is closely related to the social ballroom
dancing. Dancing figures and rhythms are common for both of them.
Unlike the ballroom dances round dance isn't a dance for
competitions, but it's a hobby. Round dancing is specific for
dancing on cue. The names of the figures are called to canned music
by a Cuer and dancers on the floor dance those figures immediately
after hearing them. Cuer reads figures from the cuesheet, therefore
dancers don't need to remember the whole choreography. Cuesheet is
a list of dancing figures, ordered into a unit - choreography.
Choreography is written for one concrete music, to be in
harmony.
As the name of this
modern unconventional style of dance proclaims it's danced in a
round - dancers are moving around the dance floor. Because of the
help of the cuer all dancers on the floor are dancing the same
steps at the same time. Similarly to ballroom dancing there are
danced smooth rhythms (waltz, foxtrot, quickstep, tango...) and
Latin rhythms (cha-cha, rumba, jive, samba...) and there are also
used some other rhythms in round dancing (two-step, slow two-step,
bolero, mambo, west coast swing...). The dancing figures for
particular rhythms are classified according to their difficulty to
the phases from I to VI. That offers wide range of exercise for
everyone - from teenagers to pensioners, from beginners to social
ballroom dancers.
Round dancing is taught
and danced in clubs all over the world. All cuer´s helps including
the names of dancing figures are in English and the are world over
standardized by an organisation called Roundalab - The
International Association of Round Dance Teachers. Thanks to
uniformed defined dancing figures in English dancers of different
countries may dance together although they meet for the first
time.
