A Royal Cleanup Cache In Trash Out® Event

This cache has been archived.

Geocaching NSW: Closing this one off.

Thank you to those that attended and helped out.

I emailed Royal NP with our efforts and got the following reply.

Wow Darren that is great,

Sounds like a massive effort, and I am sure Jibbon looks better for it.
Would you please pass on to all involved our most sincere thanks. The
rubbish removal from some of the more remote areas is something staffing limitations rarely allow us get around to. Community input is invaluable for stuff like this. I have been off for a couple of days after working the weekend and have already organised works requests to have the rubbish removed.

Once again a great big thanks from Royal Area Staff.

How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

Help clean up one of Sydney's most beautiful beaches on Clean Up
Australia Day.

Geocaching NSW invites all members and non-members to join us in a clean up of Jibbon beach, close to the township of Bundeena in Royal National Park.

Due to the current restrictions on geocaching in NSW National Parks, this is a strictly 'Trash Out' event (i.e. no geocaching).

You can also register on the Clean Up Australia website.

The clean up starts at 10 am and finishes at 12 noon.

Ensure you bring gloves, sunscreen, sensible clothing and footwear, water and a camera.

There is no charge for entering Royal NP, but you must travel to Bundeena - i.e. no stopping and heading out for a walk.

The nearest parking space is located close to the Bundeena shops and ferry terminal. Alternatively, park at Cronulla and catch a ferry across to Bundeena - see Cronulla Ferries website.

This event has been organised in co-operation with Ranger Darren Lewis from the Royal National Park.

The association believes this and future co-operative projects will assist in developing a good relationship between geocachers and the NSW Parks and Wildlife Service.

Any questions? Please email the association's President Darren Osborne (geocaching AT darrenosborne.com).

Geocaching NSW is a registered not-for-profit incorporated association.
