A small strip of woodland in the desirable Cherryvalley area of Belfast. Cache box replaced 18/11/2014 and now a small cache. Hint updated.
Coordinates at the top of the page are for the first location you will need to visit to collect clues. Off road parking is available here if you can find the way to drive to it ;).
I have driven past this wood for years without really knowing much about it. I called in the other day and was lucky enough to meet a local resident who was maintaining the park. He told me the road service owned the part by the dual carriageway and were looking to dig it up to widen the road.
He said that about 12 years ago the Conservation Volunteers had come in and given the wood a new lease of life, but since then there has been no formal input. Maintanence and new plantings were carried out by Tony (poor memory, I will see if I can get his right name) and some of his friends. I asked his permission to place a cache here and he did not mind. He may even give it a go himself, already having a gps.
Visit a few spots to get the information needed to find the cache. It is camouflaged, but should be easy enough to find.
