Steinman Run is a 309 acre nature preserve comprised of mature forested areas and the stream corridors for both Steinman Run and a tributary of Trout Run. A trail starts at the parking lot by Stump Road and continues along the hillside to the crossing of two tributaries. There are also several small side trails on the preserve, which make Steinman a great destination for hikers. The blazed trail gently ascends from an elevation of 520 feet to about 740 feet through a dense forest that permits little understory.

Cache is an ammo can.
This preserve is hilly and formerly was logged for timber but features the pristine Steinman Run, which contains juvenile brook trout .
The preserve offers a variety of seasonal color. Wood anemone, white violet and other wildflowers bloom in spring and early summer. Witch hazel and the dramatic reds, golds, and oranges of the autumn show off their colorful display in the hickories, maples, birch and beech trees. Winter snow provides a dramatic backdrop for cross-country skiing.
Hunting is permitted in season.
