Geocache Description:

A Cache put down where oysters are grown on a little spit of land called "Honeywood Drive"

Pipe Clay Lagoon is a perfect place to grow oysters. It is one on Australia's best natural areas for this type of Aquaculture. The Lagoon is sheltered, shallow, with a strong tidal flow that brings in a good supply of water and food for the oysters. The farms were started in 1979 after the oyster farms in Ralph's Bay were shut in 1972. A new oyster hatchery was opened in 1998 with state of the art technology and boasting its clean water. There are now seven oyster companies operating out of Pipe Clay Lagoon, employing around forty people. The bay produces 950,000 dozen oysters a year, a third of Tasmanian production - all sold out of the state.

You can park at waypoint S 42 57.670 E 147 30.753 and take the wander along the foreshore to the cache location.
