Geocache Description:

The cache is located near to The Moors Centre, just outside the village of Danby in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Parking at The Moors Centre (parking charge).

Knowing how much our ankle-biter enjoys geocaching, we decided to place this cache for kids to find (perhaps under 10’s only??). So, give the kids the GPS and let them hunt it out! The cache contains a good selection of ‘kiddie friendly’ swaps; if you wish to swap something, feel free (one item only, kids!), but make sure it’s really suitable for a child and is of a good quality (no rubbish cracker toys!!). If the contents are getting a bit low, let me know in your log and I will top up. Park in the car park at The Moors Centre. Walk on the road (keep a CLOSE eye on your kids here) back towards Danby, then take a right through a gate and into the woods. Follow the path into the wood, the cache is hidden somewhere in here. Children - ask for help hiding the cache properly. The cache is NOT in the wall.

If you don’t have a child under 10, then feel free to find this cache and log your find, but please leave the goodies for the kids.

We have chosen to place the cache near to The Moors Centre as it provides a great day out for families. The Centre was revamped in 2007 and now has a great outdoor play area. There are toilets, picnic tables, an interactive river walk and Crow Wood which has a short, circular, wheelchair-accessible route that starts in the main car park. Inside, the Centre has a tea room, a gift shop, an exhibition and a gallery area, and a children’s climbing wall.
