Saturday, May 2nd, 2009 Starting at exactly 11 AM and lasting only
15 minutes ! This event has a THEME! We will be doing an in park
hike... a VERY SHORT one, but still a hike. (okay, more of a
stroll). Anyone not able to cross the grass, you are invited to
watch us and can do so from the end point, which is VERY close to
the starting point. Since this is a work in progress, you might
want to add this geocaching event to your watch listing. This cache
page will be updated as we finalize plans. Check back often.
A Flash Mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in
a public place, do something unusual for a brief period of time,
and then quickly disperse. This is a part of the Fifth World
Wide Flash Mob (WWFM V) occurring simultaneously around the
globe and organized by iTrax and Foxtail. We are hosting this
geocaching event to bring together geocachers and to introduce new
people to the hobby (muggles).
You MUST be present and sign a log sheet DURING this event to
claim credit on geocaching.com. Meet AT the posted coordinates at
about 10:55 AM. At the start time we will “Hike (stroll)” over to
the logging area for our group photo and the other scheduled micro
events. Our group photo will be taken as we “Go Over The Hill”
Schedule of micro events:
Fill out log sheets. Trade swag from the bucket if you want.
Receive event "meal" (Hershey Kisses).
Prize hand out. CITO the area.
If any muggles are curious about the event we will have
volunteers handing out fliers that explain geocaching. Tell your
friends and help promote the event. Bring them along, they do not
have to be geocachers to enjoy the Flash Mob.
At precisely 11:15 PM, disperse! The event will officially be
over. Quickly leave the area without a trace. This is how a Flash
Mob is suppose to work.
**drum roll** Our most awesome team of volunteers for this event
are (in no particular order): (well, you will have to find out who
they are when you get here???)
