Geocache Description:

The cache is at Box Ings Kirkburton, a free car park is near the entrance to Box Ings lane (near the health centre) ---see below--

The Box Ings path runs up the side of a house driveway.

During the English civil war, roundheads were based at nearby Shepley and apparently they came to the vicarage at Kirkburton to arrest the vicar who unlike most of his parishioners was a royalist, but for some reason his wife was shot dead and was later burried in the churchyard.

According to many they came down Box Ings, and there footsteps can still be heard at night!

Learn more about Oliver Cromwell ---Click this link.

The walk up the path will take you about twenty minuites and you will need your wellies or hiking boots in wet weather, but you can walk in the woods to avoid the worst,----the path continues past the cache if you wish to continue.---- the cache is behind a tree and contains a log and pencil but please bring a pen or pencil.

Please cover the cache afterwards.

All the best.
