Geocache Description:

This is a two-part multi-cache in Woodbury Creek Park. The cache is an ammo box. The information you need to derive the coordinates to the main cache can be found on the plaques commemorating two of Woodbury's local heroes.

H. Browning Ross dedicated himself to the sport of long distance running. After his service in World War II, he stayed in Europe and visited Ireland. There he learned of talented Irish runners. When he came home, he attended Villanova University and told his coach, Jumbo Elliott, what he learned. Subsequently, Villanova's prominence in collegiate track and field was due in large part to its Irish runners. Ross won 8 national AAU cross country championships, and was a two-time Olympic steeplechase competitor, finishing 7th in 1948. He continued his leadership in long distance running throughout his life. In the 50s he published the "Long Distance Log," predecessor to "Runners World" magazine. He was the founder of the Road Runners Club of America. He organized races and coached teams throughout South Jersey.

George Benjamin, Jr won the Congressional Medal of Honor for his acts of heroism in the Philippines during World War II. He was a star athlete at Woodbury High School and won a scholarship to Temple. He entered the service in 1943. On Dec. 21, 1944, after several of his officers were killed, and armed only with a pistol, PFC Benjamin single-handedly led a charge of a well-defended Japanese stronghold. He annihilated an enemy machine gun position and exhorted his platoon to advance. He was mortally wounded in the assault, yet continued to aid the advance when he radioed critical tactical information on the enemy.

To find the cache, add PFC Benjamin's Infantry Regiment number to 183. Use this result for your N. coordinate:
N 39 50.xxx.

To find the W. coordinate, count the number of words in the Bible passage at the bottom of H. Browning Ross' plaque and subtract this number from 453. Use this result for your W coordinate:
W 75 09.xxx .

Congrats to Michaelcycle for FTF!
