Geocache Description:

We've booked a whole field on a fabulous campsite from Friday 26th June to Sunday 28th June 2009, with scope to extend your stay if you wish, and would love you to come and join us!! The campsite is beautifully situated in the Forest of Bowland. at the point where it meets the Yorkshire Dales National Park, offering stunning scenery and an idyllic setting for visitors wishing to stay and enjoy the area.

Come and join us at

Dalesbridge, Austwick, Near Settle, LA2 8AZ. Tel: 015242 51021

Prices to camp (caravans and campervans also welcome) can be found on the website, but as a rough estimate a tent with two adults and two children without hook up will cost you approximately £17 per night depending on the age of the children. A limited number of electric hook ups are available - please ask when you book!

Bunkhouses also available - see website for details. We would advise you book quickly if this is your preferred accommodation.  Dalesbridge does offer bed and breakfast accommodation, but are fully booked for the weekend we are there, so sorry folks that is not an option for softies!

Please book directly with the campsite, either online or by telephone,
and be sure to quote the magic word "GEOCACHING" when you book.

The reception area sells essential items and will happily freeze your freezer blocks for you. There is a friendly local shop in Austwick village (less than a mile) and supermarkets nearby in Settle and Ingleton (approx 5 miles) that are open till late.

BBQs are permitted, off the ground please, but no open fires.

Day visitors are welcome on site at 10.00am on Saturday 25th June to pick up details of new caches. Please also feel free to join us on site on Saturday evening when we will have a BBQ or maybe arranging for a big Chinese/Indian takeaway. Details nearer the time.

Dalesbridge is situated on the main A65 cross-Pennine route between Ingleton (6miles) and Settle (5miles), close to the village of Austwick with the entrance on the main A65 road.

The Dalesbridge campsite welcomes dogs but they ask that they are kept under close control and that owners are considerate to other campers.

Travelling by train, the nearest station within walking distance is Clapham (2.5 miles), but for those being collected by car, Settle and Giggleswick are more convenient.
