WELCOME
ALL!
To the (hopefully)
annual… WNY GeoBash & Picnic.
This event cache
is a great way to kick off the season of warm weather caching.
Bring your friends, family, pets, and don't forget your GPS too.
Many fun events to be held including door prize raffles, 5 new
geocaches to kick off on the date of the event (coordinates will be
given out at the event), Geo-Swag trades, Cache In-Trash Out
responsibilities, giveaways, grilling, Fun, and much, much more!
All geocachers that attend the event will get a free Geo-Swag Item.
(It probably won't be that good but it's still free!) Also bring
your geo-coin collection to show off.
Cache Info…
Be sure when you
are at the event to grab the list of geocaches that are to be
kicked off at the date of the event. Race off on foot or by
geomobile to grab the FTF, STF, or 2,900,324th… who
cares as long as you find them!
Door Prize & Raffle
Info…
I am going to be
looking for donations to the event. I have some stuff… but many
people donating lots of goodies makes things much more exciting. If
you are interested in donating any Geo-Swag, please contact me
(Fatty Doo Datty) and we will set something up. All GeoCachers with
a GPS will receive a Door Prize Ticket. Additional Tickets will be
availiable for raffles.
Please be sure to
spread the info around about the event so we have a great turn out.
Also this event is to be held rain or shine. Keep your fingers
crossed for good weather! No illegal, immoral, unethical stuff, or
people with bad attitudes allowed. Thanks! Remember cache safe and
cache smart. SEE YOU THERE!
I just got done talking with
the City Clerk of Lockport and I have to push it back to 12 because
of the Easter Egg Hunt for the kiddies earlier. If you have little
ones the event is pretty awesome and it runs from 10-11am at the
same location as this one. The Event will probably run till about 3
(or 4... or whenever)
Please plan on
bringing grills or whatever food you would like. If you would like
to bring a dish to pass that would be great but not required. There
are a few grills that are on the grounds but they are far and in
between and need charcoal. The grill I have is a small propane one
but sufficient for cooking a few items. If anyone else can bring
theirs that would be great or we'll be eating 10 at a time in 20
min shifts... which probably won't be too good. Bring what you
would need for your group and any extra we can all share. (i.e.
meat, snacks, drinks, etc.) I will have paper plates, forks and
spoons, and cups. When I was scouting for cache sites I did notice
that there was an electrical outlet on one of the bathroom houses.
I don't know if it works... I planned on bringing a power inverter
and hooking up mine through the car if I bring something that needs
to be plugged in. There are a few pavillions in case of rain, but
if you'd like to start a shanty town with your crew that will be
fine too. I am keeping my fingers crossed for great weather... if
anyone sees something that I am OBVIOUSLY missing or not thinking
about please send me an email. All input helps! This is my first
attempt at throwing a GeoEvent.
