Geocache Description:

Welcome to what I call "Sunset Rock" located in the Town of Woodbury. I grew up in Central Valley and have visited this area since I was in High School. The view is awesome. Not many people besides a few locals know of its existence. Now that I know about geocaching I've decided to place my first hide here because it seems like a great spot for one.

The cache is at the end of Estrada Road. Easy enough, right? Not exactly... you have to walk along an abandoned mountain road to access. This is also the Long Path. There is a lot of history and development here. Old houses mixed with new, stream beds, waterfalls, rock formations, and peeking through the trees is a preview of the cache scene. Once you're there, enjoy the view. The cache is nearby and out of sight from potential mugglers. This will be one to remember.

Note: There are many "No Parking" signs at Estrada's turnout that are strictly enforced (trust me, I found out the hard way once). If you park on Estrada, make sure you pull off the side. If you park on Route 6, be really careful crossing the road.

Placed with permission from the Bear Mountain State Park Administration Office, signed by Senior Ranger Tim Sullivan, Permit # 5-09.

Congrats on FTF: Walkin' Ed
