Stopping at the Wild Wood

public property.

This dilapidated building you are viewing once was a thriving
resort complete with cabins for overnight stays or longer, it had a
it’s own camping area along the Little Quil River as well as a
restaurant. Yes this was the Wild Wood Resort, perhaps why the road
here is name Wild Wood, ah? From local recollection the resort
stated somewhere in the late teens of the 20th century or early
twenties and existed till the late 1950’s or early 60’s.
The resort owned property on both sides of the road, the newly made
Olympic Scenic highway, 101. On the other side of the road was a
play park complete with a tree house built on a large stump, swings
and game area. You still can see the large stump in front of the
new garage, and the skeleton of the picnic pavillion. No need to
access property can view from road. Folks from Seattle and other
destinations would stopped here to eat, rest and play. Now all gone
except for this old falling down building.
Please keep off the property and do not enter the building, respect
the no trespassing sign, as you can see it is about to cave in
anyway. On the other side of the road again this is private
property and we need to stay off. Thank you.
The cache is easy capture; however not in a wheel chair, if you
have children, keep in hand, busy high way. Also only a few steps
away is the Little Quilcene River which can be viewed from the
bridge.
Katewoman52 you ropped this one in for FTF, Thanks
Cowboy.
