Geocache Description:

This is one of two easy multi-caches near Cronemiller Lake in McDonald Forest. Round-trip is approximately 1.5 miles. Also, you may want to check out virtual cache GC8934 because you will be walking right past it to get to this one.

The published coordinates will lead you to a bench. Look for a sign upon that bench which has two numbers upon it. Add together the digits of those numbers to get AA. Add 2 to AA to get BB. Then add 19 to BB to get CC. Plug those numbers into the following pattern to determine the coordinates for the second (and final) stage of this cache:

N 44° 39.8BB W 123° 14.CC5

The checksum for all coordinate digits should be 71.

You are looking for a plastic Lock-and-Lock container. There is room for SMALL trackables and trading items. After you have signed the log, please replace it in the plastic bag, make sure that the lid is tightly snapped shut, and hide the container as well (or better) than how you found it.

Although I did my best to ensure the accuracy of these coordinates, you may experience some drift due to tree cover. There is no need to take more than one long step off the trail to retrieve the container. NO BUSHWHACKING IS REQUIRED! I have also posted a spoiler photo for your reference.

Poison Oak Note: It grows next to the trail which leads you to the cache location. However, there is none anywhere near the cache. If you see any while searching for the cache, you are looking in the wrong place! (If you are not sure how to identify poison oak, look here.)

*** IMPORTANT *** This cache has been placed with the express permission of the McDonald Forest Recreation Manager. This area is open from dawn to dusk. Sections of the trail may be muddy during winter and spring, so I recommend sturdy shoes or hiking boots. Refer to the parking waypoint for the best spot to begin your trek.
