Lost Airmen of World War II Traditional Cache

James Bridger: MISCELLANEOUS RANT:

I boast that I own nearly a thousand geocache hides. Come to find out, it's been the other way around this whole time.

Someone painted April Fool in big black letters on a Dead End sign.

Would you rather get one shot in the head or five in the chest and bleed to death?

Held his heart in his hands, and ate of it.

You pay as you go. Sometimes all you have.

I'm going outside now. I may be gone for some time.

I am shutting down the machine. A container will remain at the following location for a while yet, until I retrieve it, so you may find it normally. If you wish, you may take the container. If you do so, please indicate such in your log. Likewise, as I recover the container, I will post that I have removed the container.

Thank you to all who "Veni. Vidi. Vici."

Geocache Description:

Lost Airmen Marker

This cache is hidden just south of a pair of cemeteries--The Sacred Heart Cemetery and the Knollcrest Cemetery. There is a historical marker here that recalls the crash of a C-47 Transport plane on August 03, 1944 with the loss of 28 lives. It was the single largest military air disaster in Nebraska. Due north of the historical marker you will find a monument that honors their sacrifice. You do not have to enter the cemeteries to find the cache. You will be looking for a one inch by three inch tube.

There is parking close to ground zero and it is a short walk over level terrain. Muggles can be present, so use stealth as required. Respect the area, CITO if needed, and please replace the cache as you find it. Thank you and good luck.
