Geocache Description:

This cache is dedicated to Tybee's Post Theater. It is a simple two stage multi. Cache container is a small spice jar.

The Post Theater was built in 1930 by the army to entertain the soldiers stationed at Fort Screven, which occupied the north end of Tybee Island. It is said to be the first theater in Georgia to show "talking" pictures.
It has been unused for some time now and has fallen into disrepair, however a group of people called The Friends Of Tybee Theater have formed to restore it to it's former glory. With repairs underway, the goal is to reopen it by 2010!
