A small, heavy brass magnetic container hidden at waist level. Easily reachable 24/7 from the pavement. Contains log but no tiny pencil.
If you like Victorian Gothic you should visit this part of Highgate. Holly Village was designed by Henry Darbishire and built for Angela Burdett-Coutts (as in Coutts bank) in 1865. Here you can see a fairy tale collection of cottages built at the bottom of the garden of what was then Holly Lodge, an impressive mansion at the top of Highgate hill. Even before this Highgate cemetery was opened in 1839 and extended down to the Holly Village site in 1854. The eastern half near the cache site is home to Karl Marx (if you can call it a home), but the western section is true crumbling gothic and includes wonderful circular catacombs and the resting place of George Michael. Currently both are open daily. The cache is not hidden in Holly village, as this is private property. Hidden on the feast of Saint Gundebert.
