Maryhill Catholic Cemetery was consecrated in 1959 as an eventual successor to Saint Adalbert Cemetery which is located three miles south of Maryhill. Maryhill Cemetery was the first Archdiocesan Cemetery to have a shrine honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe, a popular Hispanic devotion. In 1980 Maryhill completed its Interment Chapel / Garden Crypt Complex consisting of 1,800 crypts and three chapels. In 1994, Section 10A opened featuring Shared Family Memorials. These memorials allow a family an upright memorial with the purchase of just two graves.
It is believed that John Wayne Gacy is buried at Maryhill. I have done extensive research on this and have found no confirmation. It does seem that his mother was buried at Maryhill but that grave marker has since been removed. The popular belief is that Gacy’s remains are next to his mother’s.
This cache contains a "seed" cache. It is a small bison tube complete with log sheet and stash note. Please feel free to take and hide as your own cache.
NOTE: This cache is NOT in the cemetery. It is in the surrounding area.
