The cache is not at the above coordinates. The published
coordinates are for the parking area for Oak Valley Park. The cache
is a small round Lock & Lock container. It can be found at the
following coordinates:
North
AB
degrees
CD.EFG
West HIJ
degrees
KL.MNO
This is actually a puzzle for those cachers who aren’t really
all that good with puzzles. Fill in the coordinate letters with the
following:
A = The
number of times in the last two minutes that you uttered the words
"I love puzzle caches." or "I hate puzzle caches." or "What's a
puzzle cache?" or any other related phrase. Oh come on, people, you
knew this one was a 3 before you even started reading!
B = Take
the last two digits of the year you were born. Multiply by 4.
Divide by 6; discard any fraction. Subtract 17, but don't go below
zero. Multiply by 3. Add 1164. Divide by 6 again. Discard the
resulting number and use 8. (You knew this one too, didn't
you?)
C = If
there are 14 apples in a basket and you take away 6, how many
apples do you have? No, it's 5; we forgot to mention we took one of
yours for lunch.
D = Take
the number of letters in Hockabee's cacher name (all 8 letters).
Multiply by 1. Divide by 1.
E = Take
the number of letter's in Larry739's cacher name. Letters, not
numbers.
F = Take
the number of Soaring Eagle geocoins jadefalcon has activated.
Subtract 100. Add 4. Divide by 10. Or save time and just use 2,
because he might have activated more by now anyway.
G = How
many apples do you have left from above? No, we took all of those,
but if you go back to the basket, maybe you can get 6 more.
HIJ =
Yeah, you’re learning. You've already written 094, haven’t you?
K = Pick a
number, any number. Is it 4? Good for you, you got it right!
L = We’re
thinking of a number between 7 and 9. No, we mean the number of
drinks we had between 7:00 and 9:00 last Saturday night. OK, we
lost track too. Let’s just say it was 4.
M = Which
number occurs most often in the published coordinates? Is it
repeated 8 times? More than 8? Less than 8? Do you need 8 hints?
How about 8 guesses? We hope it doesn’t take you 8 minutes to
figure this one out.
N = Take
the number of letters in the cache owner’s name. Make a bunch of
calculations using both multiplication and division. Throw in some
addition and subtraction, too; in any order. Then add up the
resulting digits and keep adding them until you get down to one
digit. If it's not a 6, then you did it wrong.
O = OK,
this one is going to be really hard: take the number 5.
.........Oh, never mind; just use that number.
P = No,
there isn’t any letter P in the coordinates. Just wanted to see if
you were paying attention.
Now, if you aren’t exhausted from the exertion of brain power
required to solve this puzzle, go get the cache. An unactivated
geocoin for the FTF!
