I went to this cemetary for the first time on a cold blustery winter’s day to check it out for a place to put a cache. While looking for a hole to stick the cache in, a field mouse jumped out at me! At least it wasn’t a snake. Always love the surprises you can find caching. You got to love a sport where you stick your hand in holes where you normally wouldn't dare.
I like this cemetery for several reasons. First, I love how they have a perfectly straight road and it was smack dab in the path of that road. It reminds me of a song that we learned during summer camp, Going on a Bear Hunt...Can't go over it. Can't go under it. Can’t go through it, must go around it.
Second, I like the fact that the fence around the cemetery has helped maintain it. Very nicely kept. Has some older stones.
Third, there is a certain homemade cement stone for a boy towards the north east end. Look for it, it is pretty darn neat. It looks like marbles pressed into the headstone, and a pretty old cherub ornament. It looks like the cherub’s arms have broken off. I have seen homemade stones with pebbles in it, but nothing like this. I did some research on this person, and his name is Utterback and he did die young. Things like this always gets me very curious.
