NEDERLANDS
De cache voert je naar het ORKZ, het oude rooms-katholieke ziekenhuis. Het oudste gedeelte van het gebouw aan de Verlengde Hereweg werd in 1925 gebouwd. In de volgende jaren werd het gebouw meerdere keren uitgebreid. Maar meer dan 40 jaar naar opening van het ziekenhuis was er geen ruimte meer voor een verdere uitbreiding en het ziekenhuis verhuisde naar een nieuw pand.
Nadat het ziekenhuis weg was, wilde de gemeente het pand slopen om daar luxe huurwoningen te bouwen. De Groningse krakers kwamen in actie en kraakten het pand waardoor het het grootste kraakpand in Nederland op die tijd werd.
In 1985 werd de kraak gelegaliseerd. Tegenwoordig wonen en werken er ongeveer 250 mensen. Het pand is in bezit van een woningcorporatie maar wordt beheerd door de mensen die daar wonen (wat door de basisdemocratische procedures ook soms tot de nodige vertraging van de gang van zaken leidt...). De huur wordt besteedt aan stroom en gas, en gebruikt voor het onderhoud van het pand. Elke bewoner heeft de plicht zelfwerkzaam te zijn, dus iets voor het gebouw te doen: bijvoorbeeld in de administratie of bij het onderhoud mee te werken, het computernetwerk te beheren, drankjes in de bar te verkopen of in het eethuisje te koken. Naast eethuisje/café en bar met podium is er ook een bioscoop in het gebouw, een theater/expositieruimte, een biologische winkel en een weggeefwinkel. Alles wordt door de bewoners gerund maar is open voor iedereen.
De kleine tour leidt je in en langs het gebouw naar de uiteindelijke verstopplek. Je hoeft de tuin niet te betreden om de vragen te beantwoorden of de cache te vinden (ook al lijkt het misschien eerst zo). De weg is altijd voor iedereen toegankelijk - vertrouw je GPS! (Wees erop vorbereid dat het bij de verstopplek wat modderig kan zijn.)
Wij starten bij de huidige hoofdingang. Ga naar N 53º 11.858' E 006º 34.898' .
Je auto kun je op de parkeerplaats ernaast of in de Emmastraat parkeren.
De deur die opengaat als je op de rode knop onder het voordak drukt is de deur naar de kamers waar de mensen wonen. Let op, de bewoners verlaten het gebouw fietsenderwijs!
De grote glazen deur is de ingang naar het eethuisje/café en de bios. Ga graag het café binnen en geniet van een lekkere kop koffie!
VRAAG 1: Naast de rode knop hangt het biosprogramma. Op twee avonden per week wordt er een film vertoond. Welke avonden zijn dat? (maandag = 1, zondag = 7).

B = Dag 2 (gebruik de volgorde van de dagen in de week, niet de leesvolgorde op het biosprogramma)

Druk nu op de rode knop en loop naar binnen. Je komt aan een t-splitsing waar mededelingen van bewoners en kamerzoekenden hangen.
Sla bij de t-splitsing linksaf en loop naar de trap. Onderaan de trap links staat een zuil (zie plaatje onderaan). Op de zuil staat waar Bar, Mime, Eethuisje en de O.K. (de voormalige operatiekamers) zijn, maar ook enkele letters. Deze geven aan waar de afdelingen zijn waar de bewoners leven. Elke afdeling heeft een eigen letter voor de vleugel in het gebouw waar de afdeling zit, soms met een nummer erbij voor de verdieping (bijv. B2).
VRAAG 2: Welke van de afdelingsletters op de zuil is de "hoogste", d.w.z. komt het laatst in het alfabet? Tel af de hoeveelste letter in het alfabet dit is ("I" en "J" gelden als een letter!). Nu weet je hoeveel vleugels er in het gebouw zijn, elk met meerdere afdelingen.

VRAAG 3: Kijk de trap omhoog. Je ziet drie glas-in-lood ramen uit de tijd toen het gebouw nog een ziekenhuis was. Bovenaan zijn 3 wapens. Wat toont het bovenste (blauwe) gedeelte van het middenste wapen?
Een sleutel: G = 3 / een vogel: G = 7 / een kruis: G = 2
Verlaat het gebouw weer en ga naar N 53º 11.DCB' E 006º 34.DBC' voor de volgende vraag.
VRAAG 4: Je staat nu bij het oudste gedeelte van het gebouw van 1925. Noteer het datum wanneer het pand gekraakt werd (H-I-1979).

This cache will lead you to the ORKZ, the old roman-catholic hospital in the south of Groningen. The oldest part of the building on the Verlengde Hereweg was opened in 1925, and in the following years the building was extended several times. Still, more than 40 years later the building became too small, and since there was no room for further extensions, the hospital moved to another place in town.
After the hospital had left the building, the city wanted to tear it down to build expensive apartments. This called squatters into action, and the building quickly became what was then the biggest squatted house in the Netherlands.
In 1985, the squatting was legalized. Nowadays, about 250 people live and work here. The building itself still belongs to the municipality, but the people living in the house administer the house themselves (with all the good and less good consequences of long, basic-democratic decision structures...). The rent that the tenants pay is used to pay for electricity etc. and for the maintenance of the building. Every tenant is obliged to spend some time working for the ORKZ, for example helping with the maintenance, administration, running the computer network, selling drinks in the bar or cooking in the canteen/cafe. Apart from a bar with stage and a cafe/canteen, the ORKZ has an exposition and theater hall, a cinema, a small shop for organic food, and a place where everyone can bring things they don't need anymore, so that others can take them. All is run by the tenants themselves but open to everyone.
The tour guides you in and along the house to the cache. You never need to enter the garden to answer the questions (even if it may seem so at first sight). The route is always open for everybody - trust your GPS! (Be prepared that it might be a little muddy at the stash location.)
We start at what is now the main entrance to the building.
Go to N 53º 11.858' E 006º 34.898' .
You can park your car on the parking lot to the left or on the street (don't park it directly in front of the entrance).
The door that opens when you press the red button under the roof (beware of the cyclists - the tenants come cycling out of the building!) is the way to the rooms where people live. The large glass door to the right is the entrance to the cinema and the cafe/canteen. Feel free to go inside and enjoy a cup of coffee!
QUESTION 1: Next to the red button, there are posters for the cinema. The ORKZ cinema shows a movie on two evenings peer week. On which days? (Monday = 1, Sunday = 7; Dutch abbreviations for the days of the week are Ma, Di, Wo, Do, Vr, Za, and Zo).

Press the red button and enter the building. You reach a junction with a pinboard full of messages of people living in the RKZ or looking for a room.
Turn left at the pinboard and walk to the staircase. Left of the staircase is a column (see pic above) indicating the way to the Bar, Mime (gathering room), Eethuisje (canteen) and O.K. (the former operating thaters), and also showing some single letters. The single letters indicate the different (fomer) wards in the building where the people now live. Each ward has a letter for the wing of the building where the ward is located, often combined with a number to indicate the floor (e.g., B2).
QUESTION 2: Which of the letters for the wards on the column is the "highest", i.e. comes last in the alphabet? Count which position in the alphabet it has ("I" and "J" count as one letter!). You now know the number of wings in the building, each one with several wards.

QUESTION 3: Look up the staircase. You see three stained glass windows from the time the RKZ was still a hospital. In the upper part of the windows are three coats-of-arms. What does the upper (blue) part of the middle coat-of-arms show?
